Building Bridges

Building Bridges documents the work of the Victoria and Vancouver based human rights observation group Building Bridges. Building Bridges recruits trains and suports volunteers to work as human rights observers in Chiapas, Guerrero and Oaxaca Mexico and at SunPeaks in Canada.

Interviews with Mexican human rights workers and footage taken by Mexican videographers and Paul Manly highlite the need for international observers. Although the situation has been relatively calm for the last number of years the conflict is still bubbling under the surface and the need for observers is on-going.

Paul gathered footage and interviews during a trip to Chiapas in 1999-2000 when he spent time in two seperate communities as an observer and on a delagation with the Chiapas Media Project.
